Dr Christiaan Oosthuizen receives the 2025 CAETS communication prize  

SAAE entered TUT (Tshwane University of Technology) solar car team’s video Sustainable automotive technologies: a TUT case study for the 2025 CAETS Communication Prize and on 10 September 2025 at the gala dinner of the 2025 Annual CAETS Meeting in Brisbane, Australia, it was announced the winner.

The competition is open to all members of CAETS (the international Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences) and the prize is awarded to the most outstanding audiovisual communication of excellence and innovation in technological sciences or engineering.

 The CAETS Communication Competition consists of two stages i.e. a national and an international competition. TUT’s video, which was entered by Fellow Prof Barend van Wyk and Dr Christiaan Oosthuizen of TUT’s Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, was chosen by SAAE as the winner of the national competition and then entered for the international competition.
