Fellow Professor Thokozani Majozi was appointed as the new Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the University of Cape Town with effect from 1 January 2026. Prof Majozi is currently the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at Wits University where he also holds a full professorship in the School of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering. Prof Majozi is currently the President and Chairperson of the Council of SAAE’s sister Academy ASSAf.
