At the 21st Annual General Meeting of the SAAE which took place on 28 June 2018, eight new members were elected and as Fellows of the Academy. These new Fellows will be inducted at Induction dinners which will be held in October and November. The eight new Fellows are:

Marna De Lange, Managing Director, Socio-Technical Interfacing.
Dr Rodney Jones, Senior Technical Specialist in the Pyrometallurgy Division at Mintek, and Honorary Adjunct Professor in the School of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Prof Gerrit Jordaan, Professor Extraordinaire, University of Pretoria, Executive Director/MD Jordaan Professional Services (Pty) Ltd and Tshepega Engineering (Pty) Ltd.
Seetella Makhetha, Director, Makhetha Development Consultants.
Prof Pilate Moyo, Professor of Structural Engineering and Head of Department of Civil Engineering, University of Cape Town
