The RAE invited SAAE to nominate mid-career engineers to take part in a Frontiers of Engineering for Development (FoE) symposium which RAE presented in Pretoria in the first week of December 2017 with the aim of bringing together outstanding early career engineers to network and engage with their peers on global challenges that cross discipline boundaries. The symposium was intended to encourage collaborative work, promote international development and cross-discipline thinking among the next generation of leaders in engineering, in the UK and in developing countries.
